JAY’S RULES:

JAY’S RULE #1.    Make Jay look good.  If I look good, we all look good.

JAY’S RULE #2.    Work for position.  You can sell a bad call from a good position
better than a good call from a bad position.

JAY’S RULE #3.    The closer the call, the more emphatic you make it.  Yell it out,
turn your back and jog away.  (“That one was a no-brainer.”)

JAY’S RULE #4.    Control the game.  It it gets out of control, it’s your fault.

JAY’S RULE #5.    Never jinx the game.  Two minutes after you say, or even think,
“this game is going well” the wheels will fall off.

JAY’S RULE #6.    Always have your buddy’s back.  Unless he (she) asks for help
               his (her) call is right.

JAY’S RULE #7.    Don’t hesitate to change an incorrect ruling or call.  There is no
ego in this.  If there is any doubt in your mind, ask for help.

JAY’S RULE #8.    Read the rule book before every season and again before
All Stars.  You will be the only one out there who has
               read it  — ever.

JAY’S RULE #9.    Coaches don’t know the rules.  Don’t let them tell you
they do.  Never let one bring out a rule book.

JAY’S RULE #10.    Kids will be kids.  Let them play.  They are why we’re here.
